Meet Our Team
Hi, we are Lisa & Damien Burns and are the husband and wife team behind The Blush Bobbin.

In the past 13 years we have achieved a lot together. We got married, bought a house and become parents to our three lovely children. In 2021 we decided to start our small business.
​
In 2024, we are starting a new adventure as a family and are emigrating to USA. We will see you all soon!

Our Story
Hi, my name Lisa and I am the creator of The Blush Bobbin.
​
The Blush Bobbin started when I decided to design and create a keepsake for my daughters room. I just fell in love with hand embroidery there and then.
​
I created another couple of pieces for my nieces (did I tell you I am a poet too?) and my business grew from there. I began selling my creations in February 2021.
​
Being a mum is my most important job however it can feel very easy to lose your identity once you have had a baby. Raising two young children and being in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, hand embroidery was such a welcome distraction from the world outside our home.
​
It brought out my creative side I had as a child and that I didn't realise I was missing over the years. It was so lovely to have something for me again and another sense of achievement. With every purchase you make, you bring out more of my creative side each time and I absolutely love it so thank you.

In November 2021, I left my job in recruitment and I decided to pursue my small business full time. Having this dedicated time allows me to pour my heart and soul into excellent customer service and enchanting products.

Graduating Queens University in 2012 with Business Management, I have worked in management and recruitment ever since. My roles always heavily involved customer service , so I absolutely love hearing from my customers and trying to develop their ideas to reality. I get such satisfaction from your reactions and your amazing feedback once you receive your product.

I try to get as much detail in my designs in my photography but I believe my embroidery hoops create that 'Wow Factor' when you open that carefully packaged box.

Damien is Head of Operations for a brilliant local manufacturing company and he brings a wealth of knowledge to The Blush Bobbin. He is hands on with anything technical, machine work and packaging up your lovely products. However has no input in colour choices, I see how he dresses our children when left to his own devices!
